So. On Black Friday I awoke, very self-righteously committed to not going to the mall and buying things. However. I accidentally ended up on the Macy's website and accidentally saw a food processor on sale. The sale, in my mind, at the time, was such that the food processor was to be considered affordable. And also I remember a sense of overwhelming and compelling urgency. It is also very likely that an immersion blender was added to my virtual shopping cart, but I am not 100% sure about this.

An embarrassingly large box was delivered to my house that very Monday. Perhaps they too felt an overwhelming urgency, anticipating that whichever items were opened last after Black Friday's debauched spending had been accounted for would be immediately returned.

All said and done, though, I must be permitted to rave. After all, the thing has been artfully designed. The motor lies blessedly below the contraption, rather than off to the side. The Enormous Bulk of most processors has been the biggest impediment to my using them, as my kitchen space has always been very limited. But this one is smaller than my blender. Here: I've included a photo so you can see how it does not even intimidate the can opener.

Of course, I immediately had to make tabbouleh and the Wicked Quick Hummus.
