I am so envious of your ability to eat cookies with so much butter. I miss being young in more ways than one. Enjoy while you can. Paula Dean would be so happy with your recipe. She is the queen of butter. Just a thought about adding a twist to the cookie, lemon zest. It really brings out the flavor of the chocolate and vanilla. Just a thought. Try a test next time you make them, make a few with the zest.

What a great idea! Lemon zest in cookies. Hmm. I will try it and report back! That gives me some great ideas for variations.

And I just had a baby in November and am slugging it out with the last 12 pounds of the baby weight I gained - so I'm avoiding cookies for a while longer. Sad.

And I must tell you, re: Paula Deen and the 2-pounds-of-butter-in-every-recipe that she has a recipe for bread pudding MADE WITH KRISPY KREME DONUTS!! Isn't that terrifying? I mean, I expect my life would flash before my eyes if I ate that.

Paula Deen. She is terrifying. Sometimes I watch her show just to be horrified and disgusted, in the way that some people watch bad reality TV. At the end of it, I generally feel like my artery walls have just gotten 5x thicker.
