So. I posted a few days ago about The Bread Baker's Apprentice Challenge, right? You get the book (worth it!) then bake your way weekly through each recipe to the end. Fun.

Well. Turns out, MANY people are doing similar with various books! To wit:

For Mother's Day (my first!!) Brian gave me Dorie Greenspan's Baking: From My Home to Yours. Greenspan is awesome - her cooking is fabulous and delish without swinging either to off-putting elegance or trashiness. She also appears on NPR from time to time. Anyway, I just discovered a website that hosts a group of folks doing a project they're calling Tuesdays with Dorie, where, every week, they - you guessed it - make the next recipe in the Baking book.

The moral of the story: quit your day jobs. Research and join as many cook-your-way-through-a-book groups online and spend your mortal days churning out the kitchen genius of others.

I mean, self-reliance and autonomy are frankly overrated, right?
