Usually short little pieces written by Mark Bittman on the NYTimes site. They are often entertaining. Mark Bittman wrote How to Cook Everything and is an advocate for cooking meat as part of a meal, rather than the center of a meal.

Don't tell my boyfriend, but I think I may love Joy the Baker :-)! Her posts are witty and always delicious to drool over.

Cooking Korean with Maangchi
The alpha and omega of Korean cooking blogs. She has recipes with photographs as well as video recipes. It's a cool, hectic blog with a lot of traffic.

Dorie Greenspan.
The issue is why did I not look at her site sooner since I know all about her and love her spots on NPR. Anyway, she's a cooking doyenne and is also a good writer, which is refreshing after reading a lot of random (but fun) blogs. She is the Real Deal. Why are we not her? Correction - why are we not striving to be her when we are excellent slightly older Ladies?

Food Gawker
This is where I find all of the blogs I love. It is a daily feast of the best of the best of the food blogs.

The Internet Food Association
A bunch of nerds writing about food. Sounds familiar. According to their self-description, they accurately note that "we are united by a shared recognition that all those things [day jobs] suck, and we’d much rather talk about food." Excellent point. I like this blog because they write a lot of article type things about food.

My Italian Grandmother
The name immediately appealed to me. As expected, this is a tribute to the blogger's nonna, with a lot of Italian recipes.

Pioneer Woman
This is a cool blog about a West Coast fashionista who meets a Texas ranger, settles down with him, and has a truckload of kids. It features excellent photography and wittily written recipes of "cowboy food." Her recipes generally have common ingredients. She views butter as her "confidant and constant companion."

Smitten Kitchen
Everything on her site looks great; every picture is food porn!

Tastespotting
This is another site that shows the best that food blogs have to offer.

The Traveler's Lunchbox.
Love. It. The current entry shows her recent miserable failure at baking after midnight, so she won my heart. I like her tone and her style and her recipes look very promising! If anyone tries any of her stuff, please post. I will do same. Who is not tempted by the Meyer Lemon Pudding??

In my journeys I came across this search engine designed exclusively for food blogs. Instead of searching for recipes on the Internets or on Epicurious, you can search a database of screened food blogs. The blogs featured are all supernice with great photos. It is very very cool.
