Hot Toddy

My grandmother and my dad made these. Grandma made the non-alcoholic version. Guess which my dad made? The alcohol is key, though, because it can help kill a brewing cold and/or heat you up even faster.

In a mug put:

1-1 1/2 tbs honey
1 generous shot of whiskey or brandy or Scotch
1 cinnamon stick
3 cloves

Fill mug with boiling water and stir to dissolve honey and blend spices. Squeeze lemon slice into mug, drop lemon peel in and stir again. Taste and adjust for sweetness/sourness. Can sub, when desperate, a pinch of ground cinnamon and ground cloves for the whole versions.
